Ignorance veils v/s Knowledge veils

 

سٲر گیتایہ ژہٕ کر یا کلام اللہ پر

جان نۓ چھے عمل زان یہ سودا خٲلی

یونہِ زَف مالہ نتہٕ نٲلی ژہٕ تسبیح ترٚاوکھ

سوز نۓ چُھے ژے دِلس بوز سرف چِھی نٲلی

جہلہ کُے پردہ ژٹن وٲلی یوان کالہٕ پگاہ

علمہٕ کُے پردہ ژٹن وٲلی یوان یژکٲلی

Saaer geetayi chi kar ya Kalamullah par,

Jaan nai chhey amal, zaan yi sauda khaaeli.

Yoni, zaff maaleh natte naael chhey tasbeeh traavakh,

Soz nai chhui chhey dilas boz sarf chhi naaeli.

Jahleh kui pardeh chhatan waael yivaan kaaleh pagah,

Alimeh kui pardeh chhatan waael yivaan yechhkaaeli.

Wander the Gita, or recite the Quran,

If deeds are dark, the bargain is gone.

Sacred thread, the rosary, the prayer beads you don,

But without a burning heart, you've worn the serpents on.

The tearer of ignorance veils comes day by day,

But the tearer of knowledge veils comes a long, hard way.
