75. Sheikhul Alam: Malleh Wuchhum Pormutui
ملہٕ وُچھم پوٚرمُتُئ
کاجہ وٹھ ہیو گورمُتُئ
پوٚرمت ہے آسِہان سوٚرمُتُئ
پنٚداو ہیو آسہِا ہوٚرمُتُئ
Malleh wucchum pormutui,
Kaajeh-watth hue gormutui.
Pormut hi aasihaan sormutui,
Pan-daav hue aasiha hormutui.
I saw a priest(corrupt one) very learned,
Chiselled like a pestle.
Had he practised the learnt things,
Frail like a thread would have turned.
i.e., If he were serious about what he preached, he would have become weak out of fear for the afterlife.
Explanation:
A chiseled pestle looks stout and full of vigour while as thread looks weak and delicate. Hormutui actually means the withered one. Have used frail instead.
