روز روز بوز میانی زار مدنو
دادہ چانہ چھسیا بیمار مدنو
Roz roz boz myaen zaar Madno,
Daadeh chaaneh chhesya beymaar Madno.
Sit, I beg, and hear my lamentations, my charming beloved,
For want of you, I am ailing, my charming beloved.
کاژہ زوٗن گاجتھس سفرس لاجتھس
ژھورمکھ گامہ شہار مدنو
Kacheh zoon gaejithas, safras laejithas,
Chhormakh gaameh shahaar Madno.
Kacheh zoon: کاژہ زوٗن: Spotless moon. Kaach actually means glass. So kacheh zoon means one shining like a glass.
You waned the spotless radiant moon of mine, and cast me into pain,
Through villages and cities I roamed, (seeking you in vain), my charming beloved.
یار دود کروٹھ پیوم شُری پان ضایہ گوم
ژے پتھ رووم لوکچار مدنو
Yaar doad kruth pyom, shuir paan zaayeh goam,
Chhey path roavum lokchaar Madno.
The affliction of love turned out to be severe, my childlike self got wasted,
In your pursuit I lost my youth, my charming beloved.
باغٕچ ینبرزل دٲن پوش تہ مسول
پادن کرے نثار مدنو
Baaghich Yimbirzal, Daaen posh te Maswal,
Paadan karai nisaar Madno.
The Yimbirzal of garden, pomegranate blossoms and Iris,
I will offer onto your feet, my charming beloved.
Explanation:
Yimbirzal blooms in very early spring. Pomegranate blossoms appear late in summer and Iris in mid spring. So, metaphorically it may mean offering all the flowers of the seasons' spectrum.
اشارہٕ ہاوان دل کتراوان
بُمہ چانہ (تیز) ناز تلوار مدنو
Ishaareh haawaan, dil katrawaan,
Bumme chaani (tez) naaz talwaar Madno.
Note: Somewhere it's written Tez talwaar somewhere Naaz talwaar.
Making gesturing, ripping apart the heart,
Your eyebrows are swords of graces, my charming beloved.
(Your eyebrows are sharp swords, my charming beloved)
ژے میون غمخوار ژے میون ستگمار
ژے چھوکھ تی ژے بُلغار مدنو
Chhiy myon ghamkhwar chhiy myon sitamgaar,
Chhiy chhokh tai chhiy bulgaar Madno.
Chhokh: چھوکھ: Wound/injury
Bulgaar: بُلغار : Ointment. Metaphorically healing. Another word that I came across is Bulgaar Jungli. It's a parasitic fungi of trees that appear on the host like a scab of a wound.
You only are my comforter, you only are my oppressor,
You are the wound, you are the healing, my charming beloved.
خون گوم جٲری اوش ہٲر ہٲری
پھلہ پھلہ گوم مُختہ ہار مدنو
Khoon goam jaeri, osh haer haeri,
Phalih phalih goam mokhteh haar Madno.
I am bleeding out of shedding tears continually,
My string of pearls is scattered as beads, my charming beloved.
نظرے چانہ سٔیتی بیمار بلے کٔیتی
میانہ وزہ لوگتھ بےآر مدنو
Nazray chaani seeit beymaar balaay keeit,
Myaeni vizih loaguth be-aar Madno.
Just by your glance lot of ailing got treated,
When it came to my turn, you behaved merciless, my charming beloved.
چشمہ چٲنی مس کھٲسی ڈیشتھ گۓ ۄودٲسی
بنگٲل جادوگار مدنو
Chashmeh chaen mass khaaes, deeshith gai wodaaes,
Bangael jadugaar Madno.
Mass khaaes: مس کھٲسی :Mass means wine, khaaes means wide cups.
Wodaaes: ۄودٲسی: It means hermit as well as mourning person.
Bangael jadugaar: بنگٲل جادوگار : The magicians of Bengal were famous for black magic and voodoo.
Seeing your wine goblet like eyes,
The magicians of Bengal became hermits, my charming beloved.
Or
The sadness in magicians of Bengal arise, my charming beloved.
Explanation:
Seeing the magical intoxicating eyes, the Magicians of Bengal left their calling and became hermits. Or alternatively, they became sad as the eyes of beloved were more magical than their magic.
ونہ ہے مہجور داستان دل ضرور
ونہ نس چھوے نہ تس وار مدنو
Wanhay Mahjoor, dastaan e dil zaroor,
Wanne-nas chhui ne tass waar Madno.
Mahjoor would have rendered tale of his heart,
But he doesn't have favouring opportunity to do so, my charming beloved.
