47. Shams Faqir: Aabeh Naareh...

 آبۂ نارٔ خاکۂ بادٔ سپدُس مِیُل

آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

نیر تو چھاونی چھے ما سُل

آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

Aabeh naareh khaakeh baadeh sapdus myul,

Aabas pholimit aabik gul.

Ner toh chhavini chhey ma sul,

Aabas pholimit aabik gul.

مِیُل: Myul: Union

Water, fire, soil, air effected the union,

Water has borne the water-flowers.

Proceed to enjoy (them), its not too late,

Water has borne the water-flowers.

Water in Sufism may mean God, Light, Life, Pure deeds. Here water may mean the light infused by Almighty directly (or Spiritual Guide indirectly) and the subsequent good deeds have been equated with the "water-flowers". 

اتھ دریاوس لگِہ نو ہِل

تھاہ منز لایُس چھوئی نہ مشکل

رہبر سٔتی ھین بنکھ کامل

 آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

Ath daryawas laggi no hil,

Thah manz laayus chhui ne mushki

Rehbar seethen  banakh kaemil

Aabas pholimit aabek gul.

ہِل: Hil: Weeds

تھاہ: Thah: Dive

This river will not get weeds,

Dive into it, it is not a tough task.

Keep Spiritual guide along, you will become proficient,

Water has borne the water-flowers.

The river is river of love that keeps on moving by virtue of the remembrance of the beloved and is therefore not susceptible to weeding(and subsequent death).  But simply diving into it is not sufficient if you want water-flowers to blossom of you. This will be only possible if you dive into it under the supervision of the spiritual guide.

عدم تِہ قِدم یتِہ در دل

بادم تمی شائی بر دُلدُل

جُزوُك معنے دفترِ كُل

آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

Adam ti qidam yeti dar dil,

Baadam tami shaayi bar duldul.

Juzwuk mainey daftar e kul,

Aabas pholimit aabik gul.

عدم: A'dam: Non-existence

قِدم: Qidam: Existence

بادم: Baadam: Courageously

دُلدُل: Duldul: Horse of Hazrat Ali

جُز: Juz: Part

دفترِ: Daftar: Whole

Non-existence and existence are here( in the path of love) always on the threshold of the heart,

But the lovers are there courageously astride Duldul (like Hzt. Ali ؓ  )

The part explains the whole,

Water has borne the water-flowers.

A person who becomes non-existence in love is the only existing being of the universe. But that needs courage and only true lovers are as courageous as Hzt. Ali ؓ. Thus courage is the important part in love and this courage explains the whole love. Only courageous can have water-flowers bloom.

رومبٔل بازرن ترْو رومبُل

دَو تُل ژیر گو وُنی چھا سُل

شہباز لأگتھ پرواز تُل

آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

Rombuil baazran troav rombul,

Daww tul chher gov, wunni chha sul.

Shahbaz laegith parwaaz tul,

Aabas pholimit aabik gul.

رومبٔل: Decorated: Rombuil

The decorated market displays ostentations,

Run, it is already late, is it early yet.

Become falcon and take flight,

Water-flowers have bloomed of the water.

Decorated market means the path of love decorated by the remembrance of the beloved. Only a person as swift as falcon can grab the remembrances(zikr o azkaar) for his sustenance in love. And, only the one who imbibes the Remembrance of beloved into him, can have water-flowers bloom in his life.

شمؔسو عشقس چُھنہ سِلسِل

ہوش کر یُتھ نو گژهکھ غافل

کُلہِ روس موٗل تے موٗلہِ روس کُل

آبس پھولمِٔت آبٔک گُل

Shamsov aeshiqas chhune silsil,

Hosh kar yuth no gachakh gaefil.

Kulli ross mool tai mooleh ross kul,

Aabas pholimit aabik gul.

O Shams! Love doesn't have an order(succession),

Beware! Lest you become neglectful.

Roots without tree and tree without roots,

Water-flowers have bloomed of the water.

Love can neither be inherited nor transferred. One has to find, nurture and sustain love all by himself. The love doesn't have any succession. A person may find love even when nobody from his ilk has ever tasted it and a person may be bereft of love even when all around him may be in love beyond the brim. So, a person in search of love shall not become neglectful and shall not lay hopes on his geneology and pedigree.
