Translation:

The ego made me object of ridicule,

The ego put me to embarrassment.

The ego is a furious drunk elephant, will break the chain,

One who got hold of ego, reached the Abode of God.

Explanation:

The ego made me a target of censure everywhere and shame engulfed me. The ego is like a furious and mad drunk elephant, tough to keep under control. It again and again breaks the shackles of obedience. One who keeps his/her ego under control reaches the divine heights.
